The Marlins defeated the Braves 10-4 to improve to a 7-1 start for the 2009 season. Ross contributed to the win by batting 1 for 3, with 1 run and knocked in his first RBI of the 2009 season. MLB designated April 15th, 2009 as Jackie Robinson Day throughout Major League Baseball. The Marlins recognized the memory of Jackie Robinson by wearing Jackie?s retired number, #42. Proceeds from this auction benefit the Florida Marlins Community Foundation which supports "Cornerstones for Kids" building a brighter future through education, the arts and baseball.
